Most adults eat far less fiber than the recommended amount, and chia is one of the easiest ways to close the gap — 30 grams adds about 10 grams of it. Adding protein powder to the classic recipe turns a light snack into a breakfast that lasts.
Ingredients
1 jar
- 1 cup milk (240 ml)
- 3 tbsp chia seeds (30 g)
- ½ scoop vanilla whey (15 g)
- 1 tsp honey (5 g)
- a handful of blueberries (60 g)
How to make it
- 1
Whisk the whey and honey into the milk until smooth.
- 2
Stir in the chia, wait 5 minutes, then stir again — this is what stops lumps.
- 3
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- 4
Top with blueberries and eat cold.
Kitchen notes
- The ratio that always sets: 3 tablespoons of chia to 1 cup of liquid.
- Chia absorbs water — drink a glass of water with it.
- Bought in a big bag, chia is a few cents per serving.
