When you need protein fast and want it to feel like a treat. The banana makes it thick and sweet, cocoa doubles the chocolate without sugar, and a spoon of peanut butter rounds it out.

Ingredients

1 large glass

  • 1¼ cups milk (300 ml)
  • 1 medium banana, ideally frozen (118 g)
  • 1 scoop chocolate whey (31 g)
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter (16 g)
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa (5 g)

How to make it

  1. 1

Add the milk first, then everything else (powder last keeps it from sticking to the blades).

  2. 2

Blend for 30–45 seconds with a handful of ice until thick and smooth.

Kitchen notes

  • Freeze peeled ripe bananas in halves — frozen banana is what makes it thick like a milkshake.
  • If you take creatine, this is an easy place for the daily 3–5 g: it has no taste.
  • Unsweetened cocoa is one of the cheapest ways to make any shake more chocolatey.
