Cheapest creatine per 5 g dose
Creatine is sold by the tub, but you use it by the gram: 5 g a day is the dose the studies used. Type the price and the grams on the front of the tub and the cheapest creatine per serving lights up — powder, capsules or gummies.
Use the net weight on the front of the tub (300 g, 500 g, 1 kg…). For capsules or gummies, multiply the creatine per piece by the count: 120 capsules × 750 mg = 90 g. Divide by the 5 g the studies used and the “90-day supply” claims sort themselves out.

Questions people ask
- What is the cheapest creatine per serving?
- Plain creatine monohydrate powder in a big tub. The price per 5 g dose is the tub price divided by (grams in the tub ÷ 5); a 1 kg tub holds 200 doses, so even $40 works out to $0.20 a day. Brand, flavor, 'micronized' and 'Creapure' change the price far more than the ingredient.
- Are creatine capsules cheaper than powder?
- Almost never. Capsules usually hold 750 mg each, so a 5 g dose is 6–7 capsules; a 120-capsule bottle is only about 90 g of creatine, or 18 doses. Compare the grams, not the count.
- Is cheap creatine as good as expensive creatine?
- Creatine monohydrate is one molecule, and the studied dose is 3–5 g a day whatever the brand. What's worth paying for is a single-ingredient label and, if you're a tested athlete, third-party certification (NSF Certified for Sport, Informed Sport). Those are label facts you can check, not marketing.
- How long does a tub of creatine last?
- Grams in the tub ÷ 5 = days. 300 g lasts 60 days, 500 g 100 days, 1 kg 200 days at 5 g a day. Loading phases (20 g a day for a week) use a tub about four times faster during that week; they're optional.
